I have been interested in astronomy since being a kid, but until recently I had never owned a telescope. In November 2011, I bought my then 6 year old son a small 76mm reflector. This set me on the road to slightly bigger things, and in March 2012, I got my own scope. Having a limited budget, I bought myself a Celestron 120 Omni XLT, this is a 120mm refractor with a focal length of 1000mm mounted on a CG-4 German Equatorial mount, this I later upgraded to a CG-5 Advanced Series Goto mount.
